Standard EN SampleStandard Method of Test for Obtaining and Testing Drilled Cores and Sawed Beams of Concrete
Also Known As:
The AASHTO T 24M/T 24-15 (2019) standard provides guidelines for obtaining, preparing, and testing cores and sawed beams made of concrete. The standard specifically covers the testing of cores drilled from concrete for determinations of length, compressive strength, and splitting tensile strength. It should be noted that this test method is not applicable to cores obtained from shotcrete.
The standard mentions that for obtaining, preparing, and testing cores from shotcrete, ASTM Test Method C1604/C1604M should be used instead.
In addition to the testing of drilled cores, the standard also provides recommendations in Appendix X1 for obtaining and testing sawed beams for flexural performance. This section offers supplementary information and guidelines specific to sawed beams, which can be used to evaluate their flexural properties.
