AASHTO M 316-18 is a standard specification that provides guidelines for the use of polymer-modified emulsified asphalt in pavement construction. This standard covers 11 different grades of emulsified asphalt, which can be either cationic or anionic. The polymer modifiers used in the asphalt can be in the form of solid particles or latex polymers. The specification allows for the addition of the modifier to the asphalt binder or the emulsifier solution prior to the emulsification process.
