The AASHTO T 347-13 (2021) standard is a method of testing the slump flow of self-consolidating concrete (SCC). This test is conducted in both laboratory and field settings to determine the workability of the concrete. SCC is a type of concrete that has high flowability and can easily pass through densely reinforced or complex structures without the need for external vibration. It is also capable of adequately filling voids without segregating or experiencing excessive bleeding.
This standard aligns with the technical requirements of the C39/C 39M-05 standard, with the exception of using SI units. The C39 standard provides guidelines and restrictions for the qualification of concrete laboratory technicians who perform acceptance tests.
