Also Known As:
ACI SP-51:1975 is a collection of 15 papers that cover various aspects of pavement technology. The volume discusses materials, methods, and design for pavements, as well as performance, highway safety, and maintenance procedures. The papers included in this standard touch upon topics such as the construction of light-traffic roads of concrete, the design of rigid pavements based on a finite element analysis, slip form paving method for airfield pavement construction, evaluation of parameters that influence the performance of concrete pavements, and the use of steel fiber reinforced concrete for pavement construction. Other topics covered include concrete overlay research projects, prestressed concrete for highways and airports, and precision concrete cutting and repair systems. The standard also reviews research and practice related to the skidding resistance of concrete pavements in the United Kingdom and introduces a new high early strength concrete.
