AS 3648:1993 PDF Download

The AS 3648:1993 standard with the title "Specification and Methods of Test for Packaged Concrete Mixes" sets out the minimum requirements for the solid ingredients of dense weight concrete and the packaging of appropriate proportions of these ingredients. The aim is to produce a volume of plastic concrete not exceeding 20 liters (0.020 m3) from each pack, when mixed with water. The standard also includes relevant methods of testing for concrete mixes in the appendices.

It is important to note that this standard does not apply to packaged mixtures of sand and cement intended for use as mortar or plaster. Additionally, it does not cover mixtures of ingredients for concrete that are required to comply with AS 3600.

Appendix A of the standard provides methods for demonstrating compliance with the specifications outlined in this standard. These methods can be used to ensure that packaged concrete mixes meet the minimum requirements set out in AS 3648:1993.
