Also Known As:
The AS/NZS 4676:2000 standard outlines the general requirements for structural design and minimum design loads for poles used for various utility services. These include street or floodlighting, road or railway signalling equipment, aerial conductors for power transmission or communication signals, and equipment for atmospheric communication. The standard does not cover lattice towers, guyed masts, masts, or flag poles.
It should be noted that design requirements for steel lattice towers and masts used for communication purposes are specified in the AS 3995 standard. Additionally, Clause 3.8 of AS/NZS 4676:2000 provides information on the additional loads that may be induced by the temporary attachment of flags or banners to utility services poles.
