Standard EN SamplePliable Building Membranes and Underlays - Installation Requirements
Also Known As:
AS/NZS 4200.2:1994 is a standard that provides guidelines for the installation of pliable building membranes and underlays. It outlines the correct procedures for installing these materials in various building structures. The standard covers situations where the membrane is used as a sarking membrane, thermal insulation, or vapour barrier, either independently or as a facing to other materials.
It is important to note that AS/NZS 4200.2:1994 does not cover the installation of pliable building membranes in air-handling ducts or under concrete slabs. These installations are outside the scope of the standard.
The standard also mentions that thermal insulation requirements are specified in AS 2627. Additionally, it states that AS/NZS 4200.2:1994 will be referenced in the Building Code of Australia through BCA Amendment 7, which is scheduled for publication in October 1994. This amendment will supersede previous editions of related standards, AS 1736 - 1975 and AS 1904 - 1976.
It is important for users to note that the publication of BCA Amendment 7 does not necessarily mean it will be gazetted in each State or Territory at the time of printing.
