Standard ENStandard Terminology Relating to Concrete and Concrete Aggregates
Also Known As:
ASTM C125-21a standard is a compilation of definitions of terms used in standards under the jurisdiction of Committee C09. The purpose of this standard is to provide a common language and understanding for individuals involved in the concrete industry.
This standard includes definitions related to the constituents of concrete aggregates, as well as terms specifically related to aggregates for radiation-shielding concrete. Definitions for terminology related to hydraulic cement can be found in another standard, Terminology C219. In case of any conflicts between definitions in Terminology C125 and Terminology C219, the definitions in Terminology C125 shall take precedence for Committee C09 standards.
The terms included in ASTM C125-21a are only those that are used in more than one Committee C09 standard. The standard is subject to periodic review by the subcommittee responsible for it, and revisions are made as necessary. The year mentioned at the end of a definition indicates when the definition or its revision was approved. The terminology also includes notes and discussions that provide additional information but are not considered requirements or part of the definitions themselves.
