ASTM E154/E154M-08a (R2019) standard provides test methods for determining the properties of flexible membranes used as vapor retarders in various applications. The standard primarily focuses on plastic films and other flexible sheets used in contact with earth under concrete slabs, against walls, or as ground cover in crawl spaces. The test methods are designed to simulate conditions that vapor retarders may encounter before and during installation, as well as during service.
