The ASTM F2306/F2306M-20 standard is a specification for annular, corrugated profile-wall polyethylene (PE) pipe and fittings used in gravity-flow storm sewer and subsurface drainage applications. The standard covers pipes and fittings with a nominal inside diameter ranging from 12 to 60 inches (300 to 1500 mm).

The purpose of this specification is to provide requirements and test methods for the manufacturing and installation of these pipes and fittings. The pipes and blow-molded fittings are made of virgin PE plastic compound, while rotationally molded fittings and couplings are made of virgin PE plastic compound. Injection molded fittings and couplings are also made of virgin PE plastic compound. The carbon black content in these compounds should not exceed 4%.

Tests and measurements are conducted to determine various properties of the pipes and fittings, including inside diameter, length, minimum inner-liner thickness, perforations, stiffness, flattening, and impact resistance. The products are required to be homogeneous throughout and as uniform as commercially practical in color, opacity, and density. The pipe walls should be free of visible defects such as cracks, holes, blisters, voids, or foreign inclusions.

The ends of the pipes should be cut cleanly and squarely, and holes intentionally placed in perforated pipe are acceptable. It is important to note that the installation of pipes and fittings should be in compliance with Practice D2321.
