Standard ENStandard Test Method for Compressive Strength of Hydraulic-Cement Mortars (Using Portions of Prisms Broken in Flexure)
Also Known As:
The ASTM C349-18 standard describes a test method for determining the compressive strength of hydraulic-cement mortars. This test method uses portions of prisms that have been previously made and broken in flexure according to ASTM C348 to obtain compressive strength values. It should be noted that these compressive strength values are for reference purposes only and should not be used as substitutes for values obtained by Test Method C109/C109M for cement acceptance.
The standard specifies that the test specimens should be portions of prisms, and the compressive strength is determined by subjecting these specimens to a compressive force. The results are used to evaluate the performance of hydraulic-cement mortars.
In addition, the standard states that measurements should be obtained in SI units, but conversion is allowed using the rules for conversion and rounding given in the IEEE/ASTM SI 10 standard.
