Wire- and Strand-Wound, Circular, Prestressed Concrete Water Tanks
Also Known As:
AWWA D110-13 (R2018) is a standard that outlines the recommended practices for the design, construction, inspection, and maintenance of wire- and strand-wound, circular, prestressed concrete water tanks. This standard specifically covers four types of core walls: Type I, Type II, Type III, and Type IV, each with different construction methods and materials used.
The standard focuses on structures that contain potable water or raw water with normal temperature and pH levels commonly found in drinking water supplies. It does not address bonded or unbonded horizontal tendons used for prestressed reinforcement of the tank's wall, floor, or roof.
It's important to note that this standard is not suitable for the design of containment structures for highly aggressive waters or high-temperature waters unless special considerations are taken into account. Additionally, AWWA D110-13 (R2018) should not be used for the design of structures for wastewater, bulk dry storage, chemical storage, or storage of slurries.
