BS EN 13146-5:2012 is a standard that specifies a laboratory test procedure for determining the electrical resistance in wet conditions of a fastening system attached to railway tracks. The test procedure is applicable to both steel or concrete sleepers, bearers, elements of slab track, and embedded rail. The purpose of this test is to evaluate the electrical resistance of the fastening assembly, specifically in relation to signaling currents, and not traction currents.
