BS EN 14216:2015 is a European standard that provides the composition, specifications, and conformity criteria for very low heat special cements. Two notes are provided in the standard for clarification purposes. Note 1 specifies that the term "cement" in this standard refers specifically to very low heat special cement, unless otherwise indicated. Note 2 highlights that the risk of early-age thermal cracking in concrete depends not only on the heat of hydration of the cement but also on other factors such as properties and execution.
