BS EN 12350-5:2019 is a standard that provides a method for determining the flow of fresh concrete. However, it has certain limitations and is not applicable to certain types of concrete, such as self-compacting concrete, foamed concrete, and no-fines concrete. Additionally, it is not suitable for concrete with a coarsest fraction of aggregates (Dmax) greater than 63 mm.
The flow table test described in this standard is highly sensitive to changes in the consistency of concrete and can provide accurate results for flow values ranging from 340 mm to 620 mm. However, outside of this range, the flow table test may not be suitable, and alternative methods should be considered for determining the consistence of the concrete.
