The BS EN 13892-5:2003 standard is a method of test for screed materials, specifically for determining the wear resistance of the wearing layer to a rolling wheel. The standard applies to cementitious screed materials, as well as synthetic resin screed materials or other types of screed materials for wearing surfaces.
The test involves subjecting moulded mortar specimens to a heavily loaded rolling wheel. This is done to simulate the wear and tear that the screed material may undergo in real-life usage. The purpose of the test is to assess the durability and resistance of the screed material to wear caused by rolling wheels, such as those found in heavy traffic areas or industrial environments.
