Standard EN SampleEurocode 9. Design of Aluminium Structures. Cold-Formed Structural Sheeting
Also Known As:
BS EN 1999-1-4:2007+A1:2011 provides design requirements for cold-formed trapezoidal aluminium sheeting. The standard applies to aluminium products made from hot or cold-rolled sheet or strip that have been cold-formed through processes such as cold-rolled forming or press-breaking. It should be noted that the execution of aluminium structures made from cold-formed sheeting is covered in the separate standard EN 1090-3.
The standard offers methods for stressed-skin design, which involves using aluminium sheeting as a structural diaphragm. However, it is important to note that the standard does not cover cold-formed aluminium profiles like C- or Z-profiles, as well as cold-formed and welded circular or rectangular hollow sections.
BS EN 1999-1-4:2007+A1:2011 provides methods for design using either calculation or testing. Design by calculation is restricted to specified ranges of material properties and geometrical properties, where sufficient experience and test evidence are available. However, these limitations do not apply to design by testing.
It's worth mentioning that the standard does not address load arrangement for loads during execution and maintenance.
