Standard EN SampleGeneral Principles of Design of Fibrous (Gypsum) Plaster Works
Also Known As:
BS EN 15319:2007 is a European standard that provides general principles for the design of works using fibrous (gypsum) plaster products. This standard applies to both new constructions and the renovation or conversion of existing buildings. It covers three categories of fibrous plaster production, namely "cpp" allowing CE marking, "cppv" allowing CE marking, and "ipp" either with or without CE marking.
The standard specifies various fields of application for fibrous plaster, including architectural effects such as decorating cornices, pilasters, columns, flat or shaped ceilings, partitions, linings, and structures to improve acoustical performance. It also covers technical functions such as shafts and ducts for ventilation, ceiling voids and chambers for pressurization, and structures to enhance fire safety.
It is important to note that fibrous plaster can have multiple functions, and the standard mentions that it can be used externally under certain conditions. Additionally, fibrous plaster works should be capable of having usual finishes applied directly to them, such as paint or wallpaper, following the appropriate preparatory work for the desired finish.
