BS EN 507:2019 is a standard that specifies the requirements for fully supported roofing and cladding products made from aluminium sheet. These products are used in the assembly of coverings for wall claddings, linings, and pitched roofs. The standard establishes the general characteristics, definitions, and labeling of the products, as well as the requirements for the materials used in their manufacture.
The purpose of this standard is to ensure that manufacturers comply with the specified requirements and that purchasers can verify compliance before the products are delivered. It covers both prefabricated or semi-formed products, as well as strip, coil, and sheet for on-site-formed applications such as standing seam roofs.
It's important to note that this standard only applies to discontinuously laid and fully supported roofing and cladding products made from aluminium sheets. It does not cover self-supporting aluminium sheets, which are covered by a separate standard (EN 508-2). Additionally, the standard does not include requirements for supporting construction, the design of the roof system, or the execution of connections and flashings.
