Drilling and Foundation Equipment - Safety - Common Requirements

The BS EN 16228-1:2014 standard specifies the common safety requirements for drilling and foundation equipment. However, the standard does exclude certain machines such as tunnelling machines, unshielded tunnel boring machines, rodless shaft boring machines for rock, raise boring machines, and drill rigs used in the oil and gas industry. Additionally, the standard does not cover offshore applications and specific requirements for potentially explosive atmospheres, which may require adherence to additional regulations beyond the scope of this standard.
