Standard EN SampleAdhesives for Ceramic Tiles: Requirements, Assessment and Verification of Constancy of Performance, Classification and Marking
Also Known As:
BS EN 12004-1:2017 is a European Standard that applies to three types of adhesives for ceramic tiles: cementitious adhesives for both internal and external tile installations, dispersion adhesives for internal tile installations on walls and floors, and reaction resin adhesives for internal tile installations. The standard provides terminology, working methods, application properties, and other relevant information regarding ceramic tile adhesives.
This standard sets forth performance requirements for adhesives used for ceramic tiles and specifies the corresponding test methods, as well as the assessment and verification of constancy of performance (AVCP). It also covers the classification, designation, and marking of adhesives for ceramic tiles. However, it does not offer criteria or recommendations for the design and installation of the tiles themselves.
It is worth noting that while ceramic tile adhesives are primarily intended for use with ceramic tiles, they may also be applicable to other types of tiles, such as natural or agglomerated stones, as long as they do not have a negative impact on these materials.
