Standard EN SampleMetal Beads and Feature Profiles for Use with Gypsum Plasterboards: Definitions, Requirements, and Test Methods
Also Known As:
BS EN 14353:2017 is a European standard that specifies the definitions, requirements, and test methods for metal beads and feature profiles used with gypsum plasterboards in building construction works. These metal beads and feature profiles may be used in systems made with gypsum plasterboards, gypsum boards with fibrous reinforcement, products from secondary processing, gypsum board thermal/acoustic insulation composite panels, and prefabricated gypsum board panels with a cellular paperboard core.
The standard covers various performance characteristics, including reaction to fire and flexural strength (bending behavior). These characteristics are measured according to corresponding European test methods. The standard also provides guidelines for the assessment and verification of the products' constancy of performance.
In addition to performance characteristics, the standard addresses other technical characteristics that are important for the acceptance and use of the product by the construction industry. It also defines the reference tests to be conducted for these characteristics.
