Concrete Structures
Also Known As:
The CSA S474:04 (R2019) standard is a set of guidelines for the design, construction, and installation of fixed concrete offshore structures. It is part of a series of five CSA Standards that form the Code for offshore structures, with the others focusing on general requirements, foundations, steel structures, and sea operations.
The development of this standard was initiated in the 1980s and 1990s in response to the growing use of hydrocarbon production structures in Canada's offshore regions. The standard was developed with the collaboration of government, regulatory authorities, industry representatives, classification societies, universities, and research institutions.
The scope of the standard includes specifications for material selection, design criteria, and construction requirements for fixed concrete offshore structures. It is designed to be used by experienced engineers in the field of offshore structure design and construction.
