CSA PLUS 4011:19 PDF Download

CSA PLUS 4011:19 is a technical guide titled "Infrastructure in Permafrost - A Guideline for Climate Change Adaptation." This is the second edition, published in 2019, and it replaces the previous edition from 2010. The new edition includes several updates and revisions to provide the latest information and recommendations regarding infrastructure in permafrost regions.

Some of the key updates in this edition include:

a) Current climate change projections specific to northern Canada are presented.

b) Up-to-date information on ground temperature trends in permafrost throughout northern Canada is included.

c) The critical permafrost conditions for infrastructure foundations have been summarized, revised, and consolidated into a dedicated chapter.

d) The descriptions and explanations of foundations used in buildings constructed on permafrost in northern Canada have been revised to improve readability.

e) The current trends in climate, including temperature and precipitation, throughout northern Canada are presented.

f) Graphical representations of a range of climate projections for northern Canada are provided to assess the uncertainty in future climate projections.

g) The screening process has undergone minor revisions to improve clarity.

This technical guide was developed by CSA Group with funding from the Standards Council of Canada, as part of the Northern Infrastructure Standardization Initiative. Input from the Northern Advisory Committee (NAC) was also considered during the development process.
