Grout for Ceramic Tiles - Part 1: Requirements, Classification, Designation, Marking, and Labelling
Also Known As:
The DIN EN 13888-1 standard is focused on establishing the requirements, classification, designation, marking, and labeling of grout for ceramic tiles. It applies to both internal and external tile installations on walls and floors. The standard provides terminology and guidelines for the products, working methods, and application properties of ceramic tile grouts.
The standard sets out performance requirements for cementitious and reaction resin grouts used for ceramic tiles. However, it does not cover the design and installation criteria or recommendations for ceramic tiles themselves. The scope of the standard also extends to other types of tiles such as natural and agglomerated stones, as long as they do not have detrimental effects on these materials.
