Gypsum Board Products from Reprocessing - Definitions, Requirements and Test Methods
Also Known As:
The DIN EN 14190 standard focuses on the characteristics and performance of gypsum board products that have been reprocessed. These products are manufactured using gypsum boards that adhere to various European standards, such as EN 520, EN 15283-1, and EN 15283-2. Reprocessing refers to operations like cutting, perforating, edge profiling, decorating, and laminating membranes of other materials for functional or decorative purposes. Examples of reprocessing operations are provided in Annex B of the standard.
These reprocessed gypsum board products are designed for use in wall, ceiling, and floor applications. They can be directly fixed to a background or used in systems that are assembled with the structure to create separate or suspended linings. The standard emphasizes the customization potential of these products, which can offer a wide range of aesthetic, functional, and decorative solutions in both modular and non-modular designs.
It is important to note that the standard does not cover gypsum board thermal/acoustic insulation composite panels according to EN 13950 or prefabricated gypsum board panels with a cellular paperboard core according to EN 13915. These products fall outside the scope of DIN EN 14190.
