The DIN EN 14782 standard is a European standard that defines the terminology, requirements, and test methods for self-supporting metal sheets and tiles used in roofing, external cladding, and internal lining applications. It covers various types of metal such as copper, zinc, steel, aluminum, and stainless steel, with or without coatings.
The standard includes specifications for factory-made pieces that can be used for curved sheets, insulation and membrane applications, ceiling and soffit applications, and cassettes. It also addresses the presence of a moisture-retaining layer on the reverse side of the product, which helps reduce condensation droplets.
In terms of scope, the standard does not cover products used for structural purposes or products that contribute to the stability of the building structure. It does not include requirements for acoustical and thermal insulation properties. Calculation, design requirements, and installation techniques are also not covered in this standard.
Additionally, the standard provides guidelines for marking, labeling, and evaluation of conformity for the products covered.
