Traffic Control Equipment - Warning and Safety Light Devices
Also Known As:
The DIN EN 12352 standard focuses on the requirements for individual electrically operated light devices used for the purpose of warning, informing, or guiding road users. These light devices emit a continuous or regular intermittent light of a single colour, and their colour and position alone are used to convey messages to road users.
The standard defines the criteria to be met for visual, structural, and operational performances of these warning lights. It also specifies the appropriate test methods to be employed in assessing these performances. It is important to note that this European Standard does not apply to lighting devices that convey messages through additional means (e.g., traffic signals) or devices that fall under regulations for vehicle lighting.
