PreCast Concrete Products - Special Roof Elements
Also Known As:
The DIN EN 13693 standard specifies the requirements, performance criteria, and evaluation of conformity for special precast roof elements made of reinforced or prestressed normal weight concrete. These elements are intended for use in the construction of buildings, specifically for roofing applications with their typical loads. Examples of special roof elements include folded plates, shell elements, and other thin-walled structural elements with deformable transverse profiles.
The standard also covers complementary elements made of reinforced or prestressed normal weight concrete that may be used in combination with the main roof elements, such as load-bearing shuttering plates and shells. Terminology, performance criteria, tolerances, relevant physical properties, test methods, and aspects of transport and erection are addressed in the standard.
However, it's important to note that the standard does not address seismic behavior or load-bearing capacity determined by testing. These aspects would need to be considered separately.
