The DIN EN 196-2 standard provides guidelines for the chemical analysis of cement. The standard outlines the reference methods and in some cases, provides alternative methods that can be deemed equivalent. However, in case of dispute, only the reference methods should be used.
This standard primarily applies to cement, but it can also be employed for the analysis of the constituent materials used in cement. Additionally, other materials that reference this standard can also have these methods applied to them. The specific methods to be used are indicated in the standard specifications.
