Standard EN EN DEDetermination of Moisture Content of Autoclaved Aerated Concrete
Also Known As:
The DIN EN 1353 standard outlines the method for determining the moisture content of autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC). It focuses on prefabricated components made from AAC and provides a step-by-step procedure for accurate moisture content measurement.
The standard requires the use of prismatic test specimens taken from the prefabricated components. These test specimens should remain unchanged in terms of moisture content until the first weighing. The mass of the test specimens is determined both in their moist state and after drying to a constant mass at a temperature of 105 ± 5 degrees Celsius.
Additionally, the volume of the test specimens is measured based on their dimensions. The moisture content is then calculated using the mass loss during drying, which is related to either the volume or mass of the dried test specimens. This enables accurate determination of moisture content in AAC components, which is essential for quality control and ensuring proper performance and durability of the materials.
