Slurry Surfacing - Test Methods - Part 8: Visual Assessment of Defects
Also Known As:
The DIN EN 12274-8 standard specifies the test methods for qualitatively and quantitatively assessing defects in slurry surfacing. This standard applies to all types of slurry surfacing used in various areas, including roads, airfields, and other locations. It is important to note that the visual assessment should not consider defects originating from the existing road substrate.
This standard offers two methods for visual assessment, both of which provide identical records. These methods can be used independently or sequentially, depending on the specific requirements of the site. For instance, lightly trafficked roads may not require quantitative assessment. Additionally, this test can also serve to evaluate the durability of slurry surfacing.
