These changes include modifying the scope to cover appliance types other than shutters, awnings, and blinds, introducing new tests for safe positioning and abnormal operation, adding requirements for horizontal movement and rolling grills, and introducing software requirements for programmable electronic circuits.

It is important for manufacturers and testing organizations to align their products and testing methods with the new requirements stated in this standard. National Committees are recommended to adopt the content of this standard for implementation within 12 to 36 months from its publication.
