Standard EN SampleGeotechnical Investigation and Testing - Geohydraulic Testing - Part 4: Pumping Tests
Also Known As:
ISO 22282-4:2021 is a standard that specifically addresses the requirements for pumping tests in geotechnical investigation services. This standard is in accordance with the EN 1997-1 and EN 1997-2 standards. It is applicable to pumping tests conducted on aquifers with varying permeability levels, where pumping from a well can lead to a significant reduction in the piezometric head within a relatively short period of time, ranging from hours to days, depending on the ground conditions.
The standard covers pumping tests conducted in both soils and rock formations. Its primary aim is to evaluate the hydrodynamic parameters of an aquifer, as well as the parameters of the well itself. These parameters include the permeability of the aquifer, the radius of influence of pumping, the pumping rate of a well, the response of drawdown in an aquifer during pumping, the skin effect, the well storage, and the response of recovery in an aquifer after pumping.
