ISO 10845-1:2020 is a standard that outlines the establishment of a procurement system within organizations. The aim of this standard is to ensure that the procurement process is fair, equitable, transparent, competitive, and cost-effective.
The standard provides a framework for the development of an organization's procurement system. It describes generic procurement processes that can be used as a basis for developing a system tailored to the organization's needs. It also establishes basic requirements for the conduct of employees, agents, board members, and office bearers involved in procurement activities.
Furthermore, ISO 10845-1:2020 establishes guidelines for the development of an employer's procurement policy, including any secondary procurement policy. It also presents generic methods and procedures for procurement, including those related to disposals.
