Geotechnical Investigation and Testing - Testing of Geotechnical Structures - Part 10: Testing of Piles: Rapid Load Testing
Also Known As:
ISO 22477-10:2016 is a standard that provides specifications for the execution of rapid load pile tests. These tests involve subjecting a single pile to an axial load in compression to measure its load-displacement behavior under rapid loading. The purpose of these tests is to assess the measured compressive resistance (Rc,m) of the pile and its corresponding load-displacement behavior.
This standard is applicable to all pile types mentioned in EN 1536, EN 12699, and EN 14199. It is specifically limited to rapid load pile tests, which differ from other types of pile tests.
It should be noted that ISO 22477-10:2016 can be used in conjunction with EN 1997-1 for design purposes. The results from rapid load pile testing can be considered equivalent to the measured compressive resistance (Rc,m) after appropriate analysis.
The standard provides specifications for both investigation tests and control tests. Investigation tests aim to gather general knowledge about a pile type, while control tests focus on a specific application of a pile.
