Standard EN SampleFibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) reinforcement of concrete - Test methods - Part 3: CFRP strips
Also Known As:
ISO 10406-3:2019 is a standard that provides test methods specifically for unidirectional carbon fibre-reinforced polymer (CFRP) strips used as external-bonded reinforcements on concrete surfaces. This standard applies to CFRP strips that are made of carbon fibre and thermoset resin, produced using the pultrusion method, and have a high carbon fibre fraction of over 60%. The CFRP strips should also have a thickness within 3mm.
The standard outlines the test procedures to determine the tensile properties of CFRP strips. Test samples are obtained by cutting down the CFRP strips along their axis, and these samples have bonded anchorage blocks at both ends. The test methods described in this standard are meant to evaluate the performance and durability of CFRP strips as external reinforcements on concrete structures.
