Standard EN SampleMelt-Solidified Slag Material for Road Construction Derived from Municipal Solid Waste and Sewage Sludge
Also Known As:
JIS A 5032:2016 standard specifies the criteria for the use of melt-solidified slag material in various road construction applications. This material, referred to as molten slag, is produced through the efficient utilization of municipal solid waste and sewage sludge in melt-solidifying facilities.
The standard covers different types of molten slag, including those produced in private melt-solidifying facilities entrusted by municipal authorities to treat municipal solid waste, as well as those produced in the treatment of municipal solid waste combined with industrial waste approved for reuse. Additionally, it includes molten slag that has undergone additional treatments such as magnetic selection, particle size adjustment, or property modification in melt-solidifying or separate facilities.
The molten slags specified in the standard are classified into three types: granulated slag, air-cooled slag, and slow-cooled slag. In this context, the term "slow-cooled slag" encompasses both air-cooled slag and slow-cooled slag.
