AASHTO T 152-19 is a standard method of testing the air content of freshly mixed concrete by the pressure method. This method involves observing the change in volume of concrete with a change in pressure. It is important to note that this method is specifically designed for use with concretes and mortars made with dense aggregates, where the aggregate correction factor can be accurately determined. It is not suitable for concretes made with lightweight aggregates or high-porosity aggregates like air-cooled blast-furnace slag. In such cases, a different test method, T 196M/T 196, should be employed. Furthermore, this standard is not applicable to nonplastic concrete used in the production of concrete masonry units or pipes.
