AASHTO T 322-07 (2020) is a standard method of testing that provides guidelines for determining the creep compliance and strength of hot-mix asphalt (HMA) using an indirect tensile test device. This standard specifies the procedures for measuring the tensile creep compliance at different loading times, as well as the tensile strength and Poisson's ratio of HMA.
The purpose of this standard is to generate data that can be used to analyze the thermal cracking potential of HMA. The procedures outlined in this standard are applicable to test specimens with a maximum aggregate size of 38 mm or less. The specimens must have a height of 38 to 50 mm and a diameter of 150 ± 9 mm.
