Standard EN SampleStandard of Method of Test for Evaluation of the Low-Temperature Tensile Property of Bituminous Sealants by Direct Tension Test
Also Known As:
AASHTO T 369-17 (2021) is a standard method used for evaluating the low-temperature tensile property of bituminous sealants by conducting a direct tension test. This test is specifically applicable to hot-poured asphalt crack sealants that are used in the construction and maintenance of roadways, as specified in MP 25 and PP 85.
The purpose of this test method is to determine the extendibility and strain energy density (SED) of the sealants at low temperatures. The test can be conducted on both unaged material and material that has been aged according to the guidelines provided in T 367.
The test apparatus used in this method is designed to operate within a temperature range of -4 to -40°C, ensuring that the test accurately simulates the low-temperature conditions that the sealants may experience in real-world applications.
