Eighth CANMET/ACI International Conference on Recent Advances in Concrete Technology
Also Known As:
ACI SP-235:2006 is a special publication resulting from the Eighth CANMET/ACI International Conference on Recent Advances in Concrete Technology. The conference was organized by the Canadian Centre for Mineral and Energy Technology (CANMET) in collaboration with the American Concrete Institute (ACI) and other organizations in Canada and the United States. The publication consists of refereed papers and additional papers that were presented at the conference.
The conference focused on various areas of concrete technology, including research and development on supplementary cementing materials, high-performance normalweight and lightweight concretes, and alkali-aggregate reactions. The publication contains a wide range of topics related to concrete technology, such as the influence of capillary porosity on transport properties, development of shrinkage reduced self-compacting concrete, radar tomography for concrete structure assessment, development of grout for column foundations, and more.
In addition to the refereed papers, a special symposium was held in honor of Professor Marc-André Berubé for his contribution in the area of alkali-aggregate reactivity. The proceedings of this symposium were published separately.
The publication acknowledges the members of the CANMET/ACI paper review panel and the authors for their cooperation in reviewing and revising the manuscripts. The assistance of Dr. Pawan Gupta, G.D. Brearley, and Colleen Mansfield-Joiner in the processing of draft manuscripts is also recognized.
