9th CANMET/ACI Fly Ash Conference
Also Known As:
The ACI SP-242:2007 standard is a publication that contains the proceedings from the Ninth CANMET/ACI International Conference on Fly Ash, Silica Fume, Slag, and Natural Pozzolans in Concrete, held in Warsaw, Poland, in May 2007. The standard includes 36 papers that cover a range of topics related to the use and properties of fly ash, silica fume, slag, and natural pozzolans in concrete.
Some of the topics discussed in the papers include the use of beneficiated fly ash versus normal fly ash or silica fume, alkali activation of synthetic gehlenite glasses, the bending fatigue strength of roller-compacted concrete with fly ash, temperature rise and strength development in concrete containing slag, stabilization of industrial by-products in mortars, the microstructure of concrete made with blends of fly ash cement and waste clay, the use of electric arc furnace slag as a raw feed component, and the kinetics of pozzolanic reaction and strength build-up in mortar.
Other topics include the measurement and analysis of silica fume particle size distribution, a new accelerated rapid chloride permeability test for measuring permeability of high-performance concrete, investigations into properties and treatment of collie fly ash in blended cement concretes, and the durability of high-strength concrete with silica fume.
