The AS 2049:2002 (R2015) standard establishes requirements for concrete, terracotta, and other composite roof tiles, as well as the associated accessories. It focuses on three main areas: performance, fit and finish, quality of materials, and the finished product.
The standard covers different types of roof tiles, including shingle (plain) tiles, side locking tiles, and side and head-locking tiles. It should be noted that the standard does not exclude other types of roof tiles.
To aid in understanding the standard, appendices A, B, and C provide illustrations of the various terms used.
