Concrete Roof Tiles
Also Known As:
The CAN/CSA-A220 Series-06 (R2016) standard consists of two standards: CSA A220.0 and CSA A220.1.
CSA A220.0, "Performance of Concrete Roof Tiles," specifies the requirements and procedures for the sampling and testing of concrete roof tiles and tiling accessories. These requirements include dimensional tolerances, water absorption, water permeability, freezing and thawing resistance, transverse strength, and material quality.
CSA A220.1, "Installation of Concrete Roof Tiles," provides requirements for the installation of concrete roof tiles and tiling accessories on roofs with slopes of 1:3 and greater. It covers the installation of sheathing and underlayment materials, as well as the related requirements for weather-resistant roofing systems.
Both standards use specific terminology to express requirements, recommendations, options, and possibilities. Notes accompanying clauses serve to provide explanatory or informative material, while notes to tables and figures are considered part of the table or figure and may be written as requirements. Annexes are designated as normative or informative to define their application.
