Standard Specification for Gypsum Plasters

ASTM C28/C28M-10 (R2020) is a standard specification that defines the requirements for four different types of gypsum plasters: gypsum mill-mixed plaster, gypsum neat plaster, gypsum wood fibered plaster, and gypsum gauging plaster. These plasters must adhere to the specified volume of aggregate, which should not exceed the prescribed limits.
To ensure the quality of the plasters, two tests need to be performed - the compressive strength test and the Vicat test. The compressive strength test evaluates the plasters' ability to withstand pressure, while the Vicat test determines their setting time. Both tests must meet the requirements outlined in the standard.
It's important to note that the standard includes references to notes and footnotes that provide additional explanatory information. However, these notes and footnotes, except for those found in tables and figures, are not considered requirements of the standard.
