ASTM C897-15 (R2020) is a standard specification that outlines the requirements for aggregates used in job-mixed base and finish-coat full thickness Portland cement-based plasters. The specification covers both natural and manufactured aggregates.
The standard specifies that the aggregates must undergo a soundness test, where they are subjected to five cycles and should not show a significant loss in weight. The aggregate samples must also comply with the grading limitations set forth in the standard.
