Standard ENStandard Specification for Mixing Rooms, Moist Cabinets, Moist Rooms, and Water Storage Tanks Used in the Testing of Hydraulic Cements and Concretes
Also Known As:
ASTM C511-21 is a standard specification that outlines the requirements for mixing rooms, moist cabinets, moist rooms, and water storage tanks used in the testing of hydraulic cements and concretes.
The standard specifies that the mixing room should be equipped with a temperature recorder and a reference temperature measuring device placed near each other. The air and mixing water temperatures, as well as the relative humidity, should be maintained at specific values in the cement mixing room.
Moist cabinets and moist rooms should be constructed with durable materials and have tight-fitting doors or windows for all openings. The air in these storage systems should be saturated with moisture to provide specified storage conditions, and the air temperature should be controlled with provisions for heating, cooling, or both. The specified relative humidity should be maintained using fog sprays, water sprays, or curtains of water on the inner walls.
Water storage tanks should be made of non-corroding materials and have provisions for automatic control of water temperature. The water in the storage tanks should be saturated with calcium hydroxide to prevent leaching.
It's important to note that the standard includes explanatory notes and footnotes, but these should not be considered as requirements of the standard.
