Eurocode 1 - Actions on Structures: Traffic Loads on Bridges
Also Known As:
The BS EN 1991-2:2003 standard provides guidelines and specifications for the design of bridges in relation to the loads imposed by road traffic, pedestrian actions, and rail traffic. This standard takes into account various factors such as dynamic effects, centrifugal forces, braking and acceleration actions, as well as accidental design situations. It establishes load models and representative values that are to be used for the design of new bridges, including their components such as piers, abutments, upstand walls, wing walls, flank walls, and foundations. Additionally, this standard also specifies the load models and values that should be utilized for the design of retaining walls located near roads and railway lines. Furthermore, it is important to note that the BS EN 1991-2:2003 standard supersedes the previously published DD ENV 1991-3:2000, which is no longer valid.
