Fibre-Cement Profiled Sheets and Fittings: Product Specification and Test Methods

The BS EN 494:2012+A1:2015 standard sets out the technical requirements, control and testing methods, and acceptance conditions for fibre-cement profiled sheets and their fittings. These materials are used for roofing, internal wall finishes, and external wall and ceiling finishes. The standard classifies fibre-cement profiled sheets based on their corrugation height and mechanical characteristics.
This European Standard applies to fibre-cement profiled sheets that are reinforced with different types of fibers, as specified in section 5.1.1. The sheets can have a factory-applied coating or be without coating. However, this standard does not cover calculations related to design, works, installation techniques, wind uplift, or rainproofing of the installed sheets.
It should be noted that some of the requirements in this standard may be applicable to curved sheets in specific applications, but this would need to be agreed upon separately.
